Warren E. Connelly has practiced in the international trade law field for over 40 years. After retiring from the prominent international law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, he joined Trade Pacific in 2016. Warren was selected in 2005 as one of the ten most highly regarded international trade and customs lawyers in Washington in an independent survey conducted by the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers. He has been ranked by Chambers USA as one of the top trade lawyers in Washington in every year since 2005.  He has been selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Legal in every year since 2002. He has also been listed in the 2006-2015 editions of The Best Lawyers in America, as well as in the 2006-2015 editions of the International Who’s Who of Trade and Customs Lawyers. In 2007 through 2011, The Washington Post listed him as one of the top trade lawyers in Washington, and he has also been consistently ranked as one of Washington’s Super Lawyers.

In 2008, he was appointed to the indicative list of non-governmental U.S. citizens eligible to serve as panelists in World Trade Organization dispute resolution proceedings.  In 1998, he was selected by the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative to serve on binational panels convened under NAFTA Chapter 19.  He previously served on the binational panel created under the U.S./Canada Free Trade Agreement.

Warren represents clients in proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, U.S. Court of International Trade, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  He handles a wide variety of import- and export-related matters, including trade policy, trade remedies, WTO dispute resolution, and customs laws.  During his career, he has also been extensively involved in a wide variety of administrative and civil court litigation.  Representative clients have included Samsung Electronics, Archer Daniels Midland, Pier 1 Imports, POSCO, Chicken of the Sea, Mazda, Shell Oil, Fujitsu Limited, The Wonderful Company, Tyson Foods, Darden Restaurants, the National Fisheries Institute, the Global Aquaculture Alliance, and Phillips Foods.  He has also represented the governments of Korea, Ecuador, and Israel on international trade law matters.

Warren received his A.B. cum laude with distinction in government from Dartmouth College.  He then served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army, Artillery Branch before receiving his J.D. degree from Georgetown University in 1973.  He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
